Xie tells him he smells of a Xuan tier weapon and throws him into the furnace to refine his Ye Fire Sword, leaving Zheng to roast. However, unbeknownst to Xie, the flames don't burn Zheng and the golden words from the page appear on his skin. The sword in the furnace melts and the essence is absorbed by Zheng, and in his mind, a scale on one of the dragons lights up, causing a surge in power. Xie opens the furnace to receive his weapon but Zheng beats him down, killing him, and leaves with Xie's Xumi ring, a portable storage space.
